STEAMED CHICKEN :) Tasty-healthy- for lunch/dinner!!!

Prepare with easily available ingredients at home within 20 min.

INGREDIENTS:

·         Medium sized chicken breast 250 g.m
·         2/3 slices of ginger
·         4/5 cloves of garlic
·         Whole green chilly
·         2/3 Whole black pepper  (optional)
·         01 medium sized onion (roughly pasted)
·         Sliced Tomato 01
·         Half a tea spoon of butter or ghee is optional (ghee has healthy fat, consuming 01 spoon daily keep skin and hair shiny in winters)
·         Salt to taste.
·         Turmeric optional (turmeric has medicinal properties; use of turmeric in food preparations is healthy). In northeast foods turmeric isn’t widely used. To make it visibly appealing, one can use turmeric and red chili powder.

     Chopped coriander.

Steam cooked

  METHOD:

·         Make a rough paste of sliced ginger, garlic, green chilies, whole black pepper and onion.
·         In a bowl marinade chicken breasts with the paste prepared.
·         Add salt to taste
·         Turmeric, red chili powder and ghee/butter, as per your individual’s choice.
·         Now steam cook the chicken, place the bowl on a stand in a deep saucepan or pressure cooker with water in it. The bowl should be half immersed in water, cover it with a tight lid and cover the saucepan to hold the steam inside.
·        Keep it over full flame until the water boils, then simmer the flame and cook it for 20 min. Overcooking will make it dry.
·
Marinated/steamed

·         A steamy, creamy flavored chicken dish is ready. Have it with steamed plain rice or chapatti.

·         Good after a workout session, as lunch or dinner, without rice/chapatti of course.
